This teams window closed already. An over the hill Staal, Koivu and a duck tape held together Parise arent going to bring us to the promised land. Their last legitimate shot was when they went to 6 games with the Hawks and lost.

You realize they have played sub 500 hockey since the end of October, right? They are also tied with Winnipeg and Dallas for points in the central. So yeah they may be 3rd right now but continuing this trend, which their underlying metrics have pointed to all season, and they'll be on the outside looking in by the the middle of December.

I realize your underlying fair weatheredness comes on awfully early on the schedule
oh, and could you remind me, last year until january who was at or near bottom of the league in team defense and possession um?? pittsburgh!!! i believe they went on to win the cup after they got hot.. 60 games left!! save the overeacting for when we lose in the playoffs

What does Pittsburgh have that the Wild are lacking...? And who did they trade for that made that rise possible?

i'm obviously not comparing pittsburgh and the wild.. i'm comparing you to every pittsburgh thread until they started winning.. they didn't trade for anyone in-season last year unless your talking shultz from the oil.. they were terrible with all their great players till january

And that there is the difference. Who is going to pull the Wild out of mediocrity? It was generally Parise until the back injury last season. Now there isn't anyone who's shown that they can carry the team. The young guys are who they are now. Unless a trade happens, which if the team is teetering on the brink, there will absolutely be one, this team will be hovering around 500 for the rest of the season.

.500 is better than last year.. plus it's still to early to call parise's season.. played like 15 games he's been injured and sick.. i was giving BB 20 games of leway to work in his systems and everyone to get comfortable but now with the injures so far i gotta give'em more time.. christ it took him 20 games just to reunite 22-56-29 from last year, arguably the best combo from last year.. once 3-12-11 get comfortable everything will be good.. if defencemen stop getting hurt as soon as another returns that would also help.. and dumba jesus!! is it really that hard to not do something stupid every game??

I actually hope Dumba is included in any trade made by the deadline. As regards the other comments, I am not confident. Staal is now playing like he has the past two seasons and who really knows if Parise will actually be healthy this season? The back is such a finicky thing. I just don't see it this season...

still think your overeacting.. if you look at pt totals so far i think everyone is where i thought they'd be with some guys actually contributing more like, 16,3,22,64 all on pace for career years, you could probably add 56 to he's looked great to minus the time missed to injury.. staal has 16 in 23 much better than carolina #'s
